Why doesn't Ash Wednesday burn incense so that we can cover the halitosis everyone is suffering from?

Come on ... whoa ... bad breath extreem on a day of fasting and abstence ... Geez, everyone has stinky breath, and we're all cramed into a small space to sufficate on this bad halitosis we've created by starving. Why isn't that sweet smelling stuff burnt for our mercy .... Mercy ... MERCY???
