Does this make you a little scared?

whats up with 2012?I know its when the mayan calendar ends but what did they had back then?weapons swords,spears.Transportation,foot and what do we have now?m4 carbines,50 caliburs cars,internet etc.The point is if the mayan were so smart,why didn't they have the stuff we have today?
