Why do people still believe in god and creationism?

I don't understand how people can believe in the disprovable Christian version of "God" and the Christian version of "Creation," but I do understand how some people can still believe that life on Earth may have had some sort of a Creator(s), divine or otherwise. The possible existence of a Creator(s) does not contradict Evolution, it only contradicts Abiogenesis. There is still a logical possibility that there may have been some kind of a Creator(s) who started the process of Evolution.
