I can't figure out a title of a book?

I remember reading this book in 3rd grade (I am in 8th right now). I really enjoyed it but can't remember the title. It's about these group of people who leave earth and go to another planet. When they get off the spaceship they are in this huge meadow. I can't really remember the rest but I am pretty sure there are strange rocks they find everywhere too.
