Great Expectations?

Tone and diction are used in the novel Great Expectations by Charles ens. Tone is the overall feeling the author has towards their writing, which the writer illustrates through the usage of words. The author bases diction on the language used in his lifetime, therefore, when the book is read in another decade, it sometimes is not understood. This reveals the fact that ens also admired the idea of being a gentleman of upper society through how he characterizes Pip.
