Are we absorbing other people's DNA all the time?

given that forensic investigators seem to be able to get DNA samples off a lot of things, also that we can absorb stuff through skin contact, like Nicotinelle, slimming patches, even face creams etc. Could we pick up cells from other people during any physical contact. Perhaps Howard Hughes was right!
